"original bliss" by A.L. Kennedy (Vintage, 1998)

I much preferred this to her earlier book - narrators are more varied in location, age and outlook. They stay in character better too. I liked 'Rockaway and the Draw', 'Groucho's Moustache' and 'The Snowbird' in particular, and the ending of 'Breaking Sugar' was striking.
